About this campaign

Operation SMAC Down, (Sue Mac Against Cancer): Wear a design by animation artist Sue Nichols Maciorowski, an exceptional artist, wife, and mother. Help cover her nasty medical bills as she fights breast cancer.

OPERATION SMAC-DOWN

(Help Sue Mac beat Cancer)

2014 was a year of ‘fun’ for the Maciorowski Family. The kids are now young adults. So, Chet, (aka JR), bought himself a used truck and passed his old car onto the kids. Unfortunately, the old car engine couldn’t handle the change and needed a transplant. No worries. Their daughter couldn’t drive the car anyway because she tore her ACL. She had to have her knee operated on, but no worries. She was not alone in her rehab. JR hurt his shoulders at work and had one of them operated on. (The other shoulder had to be put on the future ‘To-Do’ List.) To help with the bills while JR was on medical leave, Sue, (aka animation designer Sue Nichols), quit looking for freelance design work, and got a reliable office job. Then being diagnosed with breast cancer, Sue had to stop working in this auto garage while chemo shut down her immune system.  No worries again since it freed her car up for JR to use. The lemon of a truck he bought was put to rest with no engine transplant.

The focus for 2015 is to get the Mac’s High School Senior into the college of her choice. So, while the Maciorowskis look for college scholarships, Momma Sue needs to keep working on her cancer treatment. Chemotherapy will continue through Spring. Followed by a bilateral mastectomy. Radiation will be needed after surgery and before finishing up with reconstruction. Once Sue is finished with her rehab, JR can have his second shoulder operated on. Not exactly how the Macs pictured celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary, but no worries. They’re keeping spirits up and are sure it’s going to be a great year!

After the 2014 experiences, the Maciorowskis could use a little help with the 2015 medical bills. Please help Sue Mac smack down cancer by joining OPERATION SMAC-DOWN. Buy a tee shirt with a cartoon drawn by Sue herself. If you do not want a tee but want to make a donation go to : https://www.booster.com/smacdowncancer for "Operation SMAC Down Too" - a donation only campaign.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support.
