Stop Sloane's Seizures!

Sloane Riley Fournier was born with Trisomy 18. Not expected to live past one year, she is now 15 year old. Her biggest medical challenge is seizures which began when she was 5 years old. Her mother has tried different medications and evendiets designed to help seizures, however they still break through.

She has had several different types of seizures over the years including drop seizures, nocturnal seizures, cluster seizures and most recently tonic clonics with a scream. These seizures have ravaged her body. She has gone from learning to walk, eating off a spoon, and being potty trained to being in a wheelchair. She is currently fed by a g-tube, in diapers, unable to hold her head up and sleeps up to 18 hours a day. She is unable to continue all physical, occupational and speech therapy because she is unable to stay awake.

We are exploring low pressure hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which is considered an alternative therapy. Our hope is that it will stimulate the metabolism of nerve cells that have been deprived of oxygen. It will also increase blood vessel density and provide a continuous source of oxygen which provides many other health benefits.
