LCI's Stay & Play Recreational Area

Stay & Play started as a dream that all students, regardless of disability or special needs, would have a place to play. While our school doesn’t boast the finest playground around (some would even call our open-field concept bare), the majority of our students aren’t bound to a particular area; the physical characteristics of the land do not matter to them, for they can run and jump and skip along anywhere. But for a smaller number, playing with friends has never been a reality due to physical limitations. This dream to provide a school where all students have a place to play was the beginning of Stay and Play. This playground area will provide the accommodations needed for students with disabilities, but we feel all students will benefit from this project. Stay and Play Recreational Area is being built in stages and is funded solely through donations and grants. We have many friends and community members and organizations helping with Stay and Play, but it will take everyone working together to make this happen.
