About this campaign

The monies earned through this fundraiser will be used to take us beyond building and developing the farmers: this will allow us to include the women and youth of the communities as we begin to Sow Seeds in Belize. This funding will be used to purchase processing and packaging equipment for spices and coffee as we work to meet the FDA, USDA and Customs requisites.

420832998308890jpg420827824976074jpgOur Mission Statement is to join with village families in Southern Belize in a Fair Trade business partnership to train, empower, build financial stability, provide educational opportunities, and improved living conditions based on Biblical principles. We, specifically, have partnered with the village of San Pablo, Stann Creek in Southern Belize. To date, we have supplied and facilitated the planting of 500# of turmeric seed stock and educated them on the best natural growing practices. By November of 2017, the village should yield 5,000# of mature turmeric; of that, we plan to purchase 2,000# for export to the US, where we will build distribution using our business and marketing skills attained from the years as entrepreneurs. The remainder will be replanted for a hopeful harvest of 30,000# in November of 2018. As the business grows, we have committed to return 50% of the net profit back to the village for educational scholarships, school improvements, and other social needs. The remainder will be divided between our Belizean business partner who serves as a field management officer (while we are in the US), and program expansion into additional communities.
