Sergio The Spinone Service Dog's CCL Repair

PAD Sergio was donated to his owner, Gail,  who is Linzey Zoccola's mom, to be trained as her assistance dog through Phoenix Assistance Dogs of Central PA.   Linzey's mom cares for her for more than 15 hours a day, providing her with everything she needs from dressing, feeding, being bathed and transferred in and out of her wheelchair.  Her mom, Gail, does all of this despite her own physical limitations.  She has severe oesteoarthritis and fybromyalgia, which both cause her an extreme amount of pain and fatigue.  Sergio helps her get up from a seated position and pick things up.   In addition to all of her time spent helping Linzey, her mom has selflessly raised more than 25 service dogs for others with disabilities for both Susquehanna Service Dogs and Phoenix Assistance Dogs.
SERGIO was diagnosed with Cranial Cruciate Ligament Disease, and needs immediate (within 1 month at the latest) surgery to repair his left CCL. He is in a great deal of pain, and the surgery will be on the high end to repair because of his size.

Sergio will be having surgery at Skylos Sports Medicine, where the entire staff is dedicated to keeping working and sporting dogs active in their field.  Sergio will be having left stifle arthroscopy, any meniscal treatment necessary, and TPLO stabilization.   We're looking at doing the surgery on Thursday, May 19th.  It is estimated to cost $3,990.00!
