Scribble Me Timbers! A Personal Fundraiser for Artistic Positivity!

Hello Friends, Family, & Internet Communities! Thanks for taking the time to come here and check out my campaign. Below is a summary of why I've started this endeavor.

Art and digital design are the closest things I've ever had to a personal passion but, without a lot of guidance or experience, I floundered in a freelance setting. Admittedly, I've been under-confident in my abilities and, after enough instances of being overly critical of my own work, I all but abandoned that part of myself in the last several years.

After floating indecisively for too long, I've decided that I want to become a stronger artist. I want to allow my creative side to stretch its legs again; I want to be able to translate my ideas onto paper with greater efficiency and confidence. So, I'm dedicating the New Year to enhancing and becoming more secure in my artistic abilities. If there's still a chance that my skill sets could translate into a decent career -- or even a satisfying hobby -- then I want to see it through. I'm not sure this is the "right" step, but I do believe that it is, at the very least, a positive one.

To be honest, I'm not here because I'm interested in making a profit; I need motivation and a sense of progress. If I get the minimum order of 14 t-shirts, then I'm thrilled. Any profits that I do make are going right back into my self-improvement campaign. Continuing education classes. Art supplies. Tutorial and instructional books. If I can't find something related to art to spend it on, then it will be saved until I can.

HERE is a link to a Flickr album of some of my other work. I have three other designs that I cleaned up for potential campaigns. Tentatively, if the response is adequate, I was thinking about running one campaign per month -- and I would really, really, REALLY like to eventually run a few charity campaigns (i.e., collecting donations to send to non-profit organizations). That's looking much further ahead, though.
