About this campaign

Our goal is to raise funds for Debbi Randall to help her with her living expenses, medication costs and unexpected expenses while she battles through her 4th cancer diagnosis. Purchases, donations and passing this fundraiser along would be greatly appreciated.

Debbi Randall is a daughter, a mother of two and a grandmother of seven. She has been the glue in our family for years. Lending a hand wherever she could, even if it meant she went without. But I guess it stands true that bad things always happen to good people, because on Good Friday, 2001 Debbi received the news of her first cancer diagnosis. Stage 4 breast cancer. After she underwent a mastectomy of her left breast, where the majority of her lymph nodes had to be removed as well.. She endured months of radiation causing severe burns, and a little over a year of sickness caused by her extensive chemotherapy. In the beginning the doctors only gave her around 6 months to live, but being the strong woman she is; she made it through. Then in 2003, after being in remission for only a short 9 months, a new spot was found in her tailbone. Back to chemo it was. Debbi was told that she would have to be on a mix of preventive chemotherapy for the rest of her life, but in 2010 they decided to let her take some time off a see how it went. When she returned for her scans around 8 months later they had found new cancer again, this time in her lymph nodes around her heart and liver. Again having to go through the scare of more chemo, more medications and another expiration date on her life. Yet, just a few short months later she received great news that the cancer cells were already shrinking, we couldn't have been any happier. After eleven years of dealing with cancer, in 2012, she decided to switch Oncologists for personal reasons. Once finally finding a doctor that took her insurance, and that she felt comfortable with she started back on her chemotherapy. Then as if she hadn't already been through enough, later in 2013 she received more bad news. The cancer was back for yet a fourth time, this time in her liver. The new treatments Debbi is on have caused her to lose her hair again, and have given her very unpleasant side effects. She has no expiration date this time, only because they doctors say this should have killed her years ago. The cancer is still spreading, but at a very slow pace. As a family we all still have hope though, that our strong woman will pull through once again. Debbi has now been dealing with cancer for 13 years, and as you can imagine it has come with just as many years off expenses. With your help we can make sure we can take care of all her needs and just leave her to worry about healing her body. Please share this fundraiser; all purchases, donations and prayers and appreciated.

Deb became an online friend in 2002 when we worked on the same online support board. We got a chance to meet that year when Deb & I flew to California to meet the founder of the support board. I admire her grit, her sense of humor, her love of life!
