About this campaign

Knox Hatmaker was admitted to Nationwide Children's Hospital the day he was born with a congenital heart defect that needed immediate care.  Funds from this t-shirt will be split to support Knox and The Heart Center at NCH that cared for him.

At 31 weeks pregnant, Knox's mom Holli had been admitted several times to the hospital for preeclampsia. When an ultrasound was done, the doctors in Kentucky found that the baby had a congenital heart defect. The family was sent to Columbus, Ohio to Nationwide Children's Hospital for the exact care the baby would need. At 34 weeks and 6 days, Knox Hatmaker was born weighing 5 pds 1oz. He was taken to Nationwide from his mother's delivery hospital soon after birth. After 2 balloon procedures, Knox had open heart surgery at only 2 weeks old, and a third balloon procedure the following day. Knox stayed in the hospital for a total of 47 days of his life. In the next few months, Knox will have to have surgery again on his heart, but for now he is at home growing with mom, dad, corgis, and lots of family.

The Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital were great to the Hatmaker family and of course, Knox. When this fundraiser was discussed, Knox's mom Holli insisted that their family not be the only ones to benefit from this. Half of the money  will go to support The Heart Center who took exceptional care of Knox.

Thank you for your support of Knox and children with heart issues cared for at Nationwide Children's Hospital. IMG_4489jpg
