Keep Calm and Raise a Village T-Shirt Campaign

Morgan County has been promoting the 40 Developmental Assets for over 10 years. Our newest elementary age Asset initiatives include a classroom program model that provides positive adult role models, goal setting, life skills, and social competence. The Adolescent Health Task Force is also actively engaging in Asset Building by educating youth on reproductive health, healthy relationships and substance abuse prevention through social media, classroom activities, community awareness, and support groups. The 40 Developmental Assets, developed by Search Institute, identifies a set of skills, experiences, relationships, and behaviors that enable young people to develop into successful and contributing adults. . Studies of more than 4 million young people across the United States (as well as studies in other countries) consistently show that the more Developmental Assets young people have, the more likely they are to be prepared for life and the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high-risk behavior.
