Judith's Crusaders 2015 Great Strides

Cystic Fibrosis affects approximately 30,000 children and adults in the U.S., and there is no cure for the disease.  Our Great Strides walk team wants to raise at least $5000 to go toward research to find a cure.

Judith was born 11 weeks early due to unrelated complications, but shortly after birth there were many red flags that something else was wrong, and her problems weren't just typical preemie issues.  She was officially diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was 4 months old.

In her 4 years of life, she has been hospitalized 3 times, counting her stay in the NICU after birth, and 2 additional times for CF related complications.  To stay healthy, she takes various medicines, does breathing treatments, and does at least an hour of airway clearance (broken into 30 minute sessions) every day of the year.  Her disease is progressive, and we don't know how it will affect her future.  We do know that the median life expectancy for a CF patient is about 41 years, and that's still way too short.
