Inside Out helps kids who are traumatized by the incarceration of a parent.

Approximately 82,000 children in Maryland have a parent that is incarcerated. A third of those children live in Baltimore City. The incarceration of a parent is a traumatizing experience that can have effects that last a lifetime. Academic struggles, poverty, unstable living arrangements, and mental health issues are just a few examples. Inside Out helps these children by providing individual counseling, family counseling, peer support groups, and facilitating visitation with the incarcerated parent. In addition to addressing their therapeutic needs, Inside Out make referrals to community based services to address needs including, but not limited to, assistance with housing, utilities, job training, and education.
