Ever since she was a young girl, Gracie Gold's goal has always been to be named to the U.S. Olympic Team. She knew it would take an incredible amount of hard work and she would have to overcome huge obstacles to achieve that dream. Gracie mustered the strength both on and off the ice to make that dream come true in 2014. About four months before the pressure-packed 2014 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Boston, where the U.S. Olympic Team would be named, Gracie made the bold decision to uproot her life in Illinois to train with legendary coach Frank Carroll. She moved with her twin sister, Carly, and their mother, Denise, to Southern California. Although the move was difficult, it paid off.

At the US Championships in Boston, Gracie performed two of the best competitive programs of her career. Not only did she capture her first U.S. title, but also she earned a coveted spot on the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team. Gracie’s strong performances contributed to help Team USA win a bronze medal in the first-ever team competition in the Olympic Winter Games. Gracie went on to finish just off the podium in fourth place at her first Olympics. After Sochi, she placed 5th at the 2014 World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan, and 4th at the 2015 World Figure Skating Championships in Shanghai, China. Gracie is a talent to watch as she leads the U.S. ladies toward the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

During the spring of 2014, Gracie toured throughout the U.S. with Stars on Ice. Gracie received an invite from Hollywood studio executive Jeffrey Katzenberg to attend the Motion Picture & Television Fund party the night before the Academy Awards. Gracie was nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Award for “Best Female Athlete,” and the Los Angeles Sports Council selected Gracie as its L.A. Sportswoman of the Year in January 2015. During the 2014 Olympics, she was featured in television commercials for United Airlines & Visa. n the wter of2014, Graciewas also featured in Nike’s “Choose Your Winter” television campaign.

Off the ice, Gracie enjoys spending time with her twin sister, Carly, and their three dogs; Yoshi, Dory and Luna. An avid reader, Gracie is a fan of Gone Girl and The Fault in Our Stars. She also knows how to juggle, and uses this skill as one of her pre-competition rituals. Gracie even showed her juggling skills on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno. Gracie loves to cook and can often be found at local farmers’ markets searching for just the right ingredients for her next recipe.<r>
