Giving Garden is on a mission to grow communities around food and food around communities.

There is a growing interest in getting back to the basics, understanding where our foods come from, growing our own food, and connecting with our communities around food. However, technology has not yet revolutionized gardening and the local food space the way it has in other spaces like travel and transportation. It has not brought gardening and food sharing into the social network age where information and produce can be freely and quickly shared to improve people’s experiences collectively. In addition, and possibly most importantly, it has not taken the large amount of local knowledge, both academic and crowd-sourced about growing food, preparing food and made it easily accessible for consumers. This is a problem we hope to solve with our Giving Garden app, which will be in beta in Davis, CA this summer.

And we won't end there! We have big goals to build technologies and programs to combat food waste and food insecurity around the world. We're just getting started, so please help us spread the word and grow communities around food, one t-shirt and one community at a time.
