About this campaign
Devynis a 7 year old girl with Angelmans. This is a rare condition that presents as case of Autism and Epilepsy. Devyn has a seizure alert service dog Hannah. Weneed school to help her use Hannah. Speak up for Devyn by proudly wearing our shirt!
• Devyn'sservice dog provides life-saving assistance by alerting caregivers before seizures happen andhelps her to walk and stay on task while learning. • In preschool Devyn’s 1:1 aide worked with service dogand gave the voice commandsaspart of her IEP (Individualized Education Plan). • Gates Chili Central School District (GCCSD)illegally removed service dog from IEP and dog can only go to school if her mom pays to send a handler. Reason given is Devyn cannot speak. • The Department of Justice (DOJ) investigated the case for over a year and reached out to GCCSD, but thedistrict has given no indication they will compromise. • School tax dollars will be spent on attorney’s fees vs. letting Devyn’s aide help her with dog. There is no additional cost as the aide is by their side already. Mom has offered to supply any training needed.
The shirts are not meant to raise funds, but raise awareness for Devyn and Hannah's fight that willaffectchildrenwith service dogs across the country.Any proceeds will be used to continue our campaign to Be Devyn's Voice.

No one should be able to tell anyone with special needs what they need to succeed, and they certainly shouldn't go one step further and DENY them it or make it difficult for them to have.
I am a special education teacher who could not imagine if my students lost their supports and accommodations. I hope this helps raise the awareness needed to get devyn the help she needs !
