CVFD Firefighters Support Movember

Firefighters exposed to carcinogens and other chemicals while on the job are disproportionately diagnosed with prostate & testicular cancer – just two of many cancers linked to the work of a firefighter. Other than skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men. About 1 man in 7 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. The incidence rate of testicular cancer has been increasing in the United States and many other countries for several decades. Experts have not been able to find reasons for this increase. Proceeds from shirts purchased will be directed towards the Movember Foundation. The Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives by raising money for programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.
