Why support us?

Hey, Nicole Javorsky here (Founder/President of Cubs for Coping)!
So you may be wondering why you should trust a young people with such a HUGE issue.
Well, I have an answer for you.
1. Young people are AWESOME!
2. Who better to reach young people than another young person?
3. I was hospitalized for an eating disorder at age fourteen. I know what it's like to feel alone.
4. While I was in the hospital, my parents and friends sent me stuffed animals. These cuddly creatures made me feel closer to home. I realized that people didn't forget about me.
5. I love crafting! So, you can trust me with teaching other young people how to make teddy bears.
Why handmade?
Handmade teddy bears involve more CREATIVITY, EFFORT, & PERSONALIZATION! Each teddy bear is different. It's nice to be treated as unique individuals.
What are our goals?
-To spread hope
-To promote creativity
-To encourage volunteerism in young people
How?
-Bears bring smiles!
When someone is going through a tough time in their life, the smallest things can really make a difference. Our handmade teddy bears can bring a smile to those who face hospitalization, an eating disorder, or homelessness.
-The volunteers stuff, sew, and decorate the bears.
The process of creating each unique bear is truly creative!
-We hold fun events in which volunteers learn how to create the teddy bears.
Making volunteering fun empowers more young people to volunteer!
