Cascio Canines Fundraiser

The problem in New York City is that there are too many abandoned dogs.  The shelters are full and cannot handle the capacity in which the dogs are either surrendered or found. Some of these dogs have behavioral problems, such as never having a chance to be socialized with other dogs asthey were kept as "house dogs." Therefore, when the city tests the dog it may growl or snap oreven try to bite the other dog.  In this case the shelter will put them on the kill list, which then means if a rescue organization does not rescue this dog he/she will be put to sleep. Because of the abundance of dogs that are surrendered the shelters are limited to which dogs can go to public adoption and those who are put into rescue.  Unfortunately the dogs that are not chosen are put to sleep. One of the many reasons for dogs being put to sleep is they have no type of training center to make the dogs adoptable.   Cascio Canines will assist in giving the rescues somewhere to place the dogs even when there is no foster to take them, especially if they have behavioral issues.  Cascio Canines will be a great asset to the rescues because after they pull a problematic dog they would normally have to call and make an appointment with Georgie Cascio.  Ms. Cascio would than go to the location toevaluate and assess the dog.  This assessment would determine if the dog can be placed and inform the rescue of how much training the dog will require.  The Cascio Canines facility will be an all in one location for rescues.  The rescues will be able to drop off their dogs, have the dog evaluated and trained by the consultant (Georgie Cascio) whom they have been going to for over 10+ years.  15 rescues have already guaranteed a minimum of 50 dogs a month for boarding.  Having a central facility will also allow rescues a central location in which the dogs can be seen by a vet, trained, and boarded. In addition, Cascio Canines will also be a day care and training location for indiviuals in need of behavioral modification or basic obedience.
