About this campaign

Bully's Warriors is a walk team for the 2014 Hawaii Walk to Defeat ALS. Our goal isto bring more support and services to those struggling with ALS here in Hawaii. Please help by purchasing a shirt for $20.All funds raised go directly to the ALSA: Golden West Chapter.

Bully's Warriors is one of many walk teams registered to walk in the 2014 Hawaii Walk to Defeat ALS. Our team walks in the memory of Clarence "Bully" Nakaahiki who lost his battle with ALS in 2010.

Bully was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS in 2006, living in Santa Cruz, CA where support for ALS patients and families was plentiful. In 2007, Bully, his wife (Nohea) and two children (Mahealani and Max) relocated to the Big Island of Hawaii, where ALS specific support and services were close to none. The family struggled due to the limited services, overcoming obstacle after obstacle by themselves. After Bully's passing in 2010, his family took it upon themselves to bring the help and support that the Hawaii ALS community needs and deserves. Nohea made contact with the ALS Association: Golden West Chapter president, Fred Fisher. Moved and touched by their story and their struggle, Fred agreed to help Nohea bring in services to Hawaii's ALS community. Nohea and her children then set out, creating awareness, meeting families and patients. With the amazing help of theirnew friends in the ALS communityand the ALSA: Golden West Chapter, the Nakaahiki's put onHawaii's first Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising event was held on Oahu in September of 2013. Teams, families and friends, Hawaii businesses, all came together and raisedover $70,000. All moneys raised going towards ALS specific support and services.

Support our team, and all others affected by ALS, both patients and families, by purchasing a Bully's Warriors shirt. The 2014 Hawaii Walk to Defeat ALS will be held on Oahu at Kapiolani Park on September 6, 2014. If you would like to walk with us, please go here:http://web.alsa.org/site/TR/Walks/GoldenWest?teamid=277384&pg=team&frid=10139and register as a walker. If link does not work, Google "Hawaii Walk to Defeat ALS". Click on "Join a Team", then click on "Search for Team" and our team name will appear: Bully's Warriors. From there you may start your own fundraising by reaching out to your own family and friends.

Thank you for your time, love and support.
