About this campaign

Beecher School District is dedicated to providing a safe, accepting and comfortable learning environment.  Money raised in this t-shirt sale will be used for activities associated with the October 2014 National Anti-Bullying Month and the October 22nd  "Unity Day" celebration.

Unity Day is a program designed by the Pacer Center (pacer.org) in Bloomington, MN.  Beginning in 2006, Pacer has organized a national unity day against bullying in October, National Anti-Bullying Month.  Pacer encourages schools, companies, government agencies and communities to wear orange to show support for those being bullied.

The Beecher School District would like to organize activities and events during the month of October to promote tolerance and teach the students how to respond to bullying both as victims and witnesses.  This education would culminate in "Unity Day" on October 22, 2014 where everyone will wear orange to show their solidarity for a peaceful and accepting school environment.

Proceeds raised during this t-shirt sales will be used for anti-bullying materials, prizes for contests.  What we can do depends on the amount of money that we raise.

94% of children are bullied at some point between their 3rd grade and 11th grade school year.  We want to help children to learn that there is something that they can do about it.
