Beau Dude The Recovering Boston Terrier

Beau was picked up from a local shelter after being found in a ditch. He was rushed to our rescue vet in critical condition. He is estimated to be around 1-3 yrs old. The shelter called us thinking he had been attacked by dogs. As it turns out after closer examination he was used as a BAIT dog and has been SHOT. He was found left for dead in a ditch. This is the worst case of cruelty our rescue has taken in and we have taken many neglected dogs (Hope, Faith, Seymour to name a few). Since he was a stray no person can be charged for his injuries. After closer veterinary examination Beau has multiple bite wounds ranging from old/scarred over, still healing to very fresh. He is in poor overall health (ear mites, thin, broken teeth with abscesses, etc), but his major concerns are a massive infection from all the neck trauma along with his not being able to use his front left leg or either of his rear legs. At this time he cannot stand or walk, but his neurological assessment was good. He has feeling in his legs. Xrays from the shelter show he has a few broken ribs as though he has been kicked very hard and many multiple pellets in his abdomen.
