About this campaign

Bob & Linda have been dealing with cancer in a very unique way. Their strength and dedication to fight the disease have been fortified by their ability to find small ways to bring laughter into their home through the art of photography. Now you can carry this movement, known globally as "The Tutu Project", near your heart by wearing a 'Ballerina Bob' t-shirt.

Bob, a professional photographer, was asked by the Arizona Ballet to create an image that represented ballet. He always found self-portraits to be a perfect way of expressing himself, so he took a black and white picture of himself in a tutu. He kept the tutu handy, and on the move from Arizona to New York with his wife Linda, he took another 'Ballerina' image of himself in the tutu.

Six months after the move, Linda, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She beat it, only to have it recur in 2006. During these past ten years, her power, beauty, and spirit inspired Bob to keep taking these pictures. Oddly enough, her cancer has taught them that life is good, dealing with it can be hard, and sometimes the very best thing—no, the only thing—we can do to face another day is to laugh at ourselves, and share a laugh with others. Today, this project is known as "The Tutu Project", and has inspired people around the world to think about supporting their spouses in a different way through the cancer journey.

After the successful launch of The Tutu Project,Linda has made it her goal to raise funds for families that need financial support during their breast cancer journey. To help make her dream a reality, a percent of net proceeds from the sale of our products will go directly to The Carey Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 organization that was established in 2012. There are so many expenses not covered by insurance, but what’s so great is that for every $1,000 raised can make a significant difference to these families. Find out more about our Mission at CareyFoundation.org.

*RC Photography is a for-profit company that owns The Tutu Project. We are very proud to be considered a “socially conscious” for profit company. We have dedicated The Tutu Project photographs to help fundraise for the Carey Foundation for families with breast cancer. Products sold through The Tutu Project donate different percentages to the Carey Foundation. The percentages are typically noted on our website under "Use of Funds".

For some reason known only to God, this horrible disease has skipped passed me. It has missed me, my mother, my grandmothers, my 5 sisters, my close friends. I'm blessed beyond words. Bob...well, he immediately stole my heart.
