About this campaign
Thousands upon thousands of dogs and cats find themselves in shelters each year. I'm hoping to make their stays a bit more comfortable by donating pet blankets and toys that I crochet to my local animal shelter.
My cat, Louis, is a shelter cat. He, like many other cats and dogs, was found very young, at about one month old. When he was dropped off at the Alachua County Animal Services, he had a broken leg that nearly needed to be amputated. Lucky for Louis, he had great medical care andhealed just fine.After following his story and learning about all the kindness he was shown both at the Alachua County Animal Services unit and, later, his secondary shelter, Helping Hands, I decided I wanted to help out others like him. Louis has brought me so much happiness and I want to give back to other animals like him who haven't found their forever homes yet. I am working towards this goal by crocheting cat and dog blankets to be donated to the Orlando SPCA. Such blankets can be used in crates, on cat trees, etc. I hope that these supplies will make the shelter animals' stays just a little bit more comfortable.
